  The Darter  
   

A faster version of the armball, used in one-day cricket to cramp the batsman. The ball back-spins and shoots off the pitch at pace. Strangely, the ball was only employed in 1992. During the World Cup and the Australia test match. It garnered a few LBWs, notably Australian Geoff Boon, Indian Javagal Srikanth and West Indian Carl Arthurton.

As usual, Sri Lanka lost every game.
